I’m Nicole Giordano, and I’ve spent my career at the intersection of writing and building things people want to belong to.
Right now, that means two communities. The Midlife Creative Studio is a space for midlifers to reclaim a creative practice — through online art-making gatherings, in-person events, and a digital community space. Philly Writing Club creates dedicated time and good company for anyone who wants to write, no experience required.
Before that, I spent 17 years building and running StartUp Fashion, a paid online community that grew into the #1 business resource for independent fashion designers — 5,000+ paid members, 100,000+ in readership, a full library of educational content and digital courses, and live events that brought the community together in person.
That era also included years of branded and editorial content for a long list of companies including Squarespace, Eventbrite, Klarna, Texworld International Tradeshows, WWDMAGIC Tradeshows and SwatchOn. This was long-form, research-backed work that requires actually understanding a business and the people it serves. This is the work I’m still available for hire: branded and editorial copywriting for companies who need someone who can go deep, not just fill space.
Underneath all of it, I’m a writer. I’ve been publishing personal essays on grief, identity, and midlife womanhood for years, with a growing list of bylines — and no matter how many businesses I build, that’s the work I keep coming back to.
Outside of all that: I’ve visited 45 countries (and counting!) and am never not reading a book or two.
